What We Do.

Health, Hope, & Healing for Widows & Their Children

The mission of the 180 Widows' Empowerment Center is to provide Health, Hope, and Healing to widows and their children after loss. We exist to help solve a very serious problem: surviving spouses are at a 60% higher risk of suicide during the first six months after loss, and at a 400% higher risk of heart attack in the first twenty months after loss. We focus primarily on the under served community of younger widows, many of whom are still parenting children. The most important factor in the health and wellness of a child after losing a parent is the health and wellness of their primary caregiver. Our goal is to provide a necessary lifeline to these widows and their children.

We do this by operating the only independent, full-time widows’ empowerment center in Atlanta, GA that offers comprehensive care in mind, body, and spirit. Located in Marietta, the 180 Your Grief Center provides a fresh, fun, active approach to grief recovery. We do this through opportunities in widow mentoring, fun workshops, widowed community development, and exercise training for widows using our active, clinically sound, faith-based program in small group environments.

The 180 Your Grief Center is a non-profit 501c3 founded by widowed mom, Mishael Porembski, creator of the 180 Your Life from Tragedy to Triumph books and video series. Get stronger together in body, mind, and spirit after loss.
